Organization can be the key to a healthier, calmer and more efficient lifestyle. But who wants to fill their rooms with stacks of big plastic bins? Here are a few creative and chic ways to organize your stuff and decorate your home at the same time.
• Tuck craft supplies like buttons, ribbons and stickers in glass canning jars. You’ll be able to see what’s inside, and they’ll look pretty when mounted on a shelf above your craft table.
• Organize wine glasses and bottles in a decorative cabinet or purchase a wall-mounted rack that conveys both fashion and function.
• Place a bench with a hinged seat in the entryway to create a great storage space for hats, mittens and more.
• Create a collage of photos and homemade art projects. Display on a wall as a meaningful and inexpensive alternative to artwork.
• If you have a “mud room” or back entryway to your home, paint part of a wall with chalkboard paint and keep a small pail of chalk nearby. Your family can use the space as a message center. No more scrawling on sticky notes, napkins and receipts!
